Rosters         Six player leagues are allowed 11 players on the roster.  No player can play on more than one team in each division.  Any game played with a non-roster player will be forfeited.   Rosters must be completed and submitted to the referee the first night of play.  No changes will be allowed to the roster after the third week of play. For a player to be eligible for playoffs, they must have played at least 2 regular season matches.  All coed teams must have a minimum of two female players on the court at all times.  Exception:  If your coed team can only field one female you can play with four people on the court.  Four player teams are allowed 8 on the roster.

Skill Level:    The Volleyball Director reserves the right to rule on the stated “skill level” of any player desiring to play in these leagues.  Limits may be imposed on teams attempting to use players whose skill levels exceed the intended level of play in each division.

Forfeits:         Each six player team must field a minimum of 4 players from their roster.  Matches will start promptly as scheduled.  There will be a 5 minute grace period for the first game, and a 10 minute grace period for the second and third games.  If a team cannot field a team by the end of the grace period, that team forfeits that game.  Teams winning by forfeit will be allowed to use the court during their allotted time period.  Any team forfeiting a match will be assessed a $ 14.00 fee which must be paid to the referee prior to their next regularly scheduled match.  Any team forfeiting three (3) matches will be removed from the league.  There will be no refunds.

Fees:              Team registration fees include 60 minutes of court time per night, prizes for 1st place in the league and 1st place in the playoffs.  Each team will pay the official $ 7.00 prior to each scheduled match during the regular season (including double-headers) and during league playoffs (each round).

Court Behavior:      The decision of the game official is final on all judgement calls.  Any abusive behavior towards an official may be grounds for removal from the league.  Any misconduct or physical contact with an official or member of the staff will result in immediate expulsion from the league.  Any protest of a rule may be noted on the score sheet.  This will be reviewed by the League Director.  If the protest is upheld, the game will be replayed from the point of the protest.Use of alcohol not provided by JT Wheatfield’s or brought from outside the property of JT Wheatfield’s, will result of forfeiture of game and ejection from premises.

Substitutions:          Teams may choose one of the following methods for substitution.  However, once the mode of substitution has been selected it may not be changed until the next game.

Option 1:        A team may have unlimited substitutions.  The substitute must enter the game at the center back position, or servers position if there are less than the maximum allowable players.   Substitution may only occur when there is a change in service.

Option 2:        A team may choose to substitute specific players for specific players.  If this method of substitution is utilized there is a limit of 3 substitutions for the same player per game.  The substitute may only enter the game in the same position and for the same player.  A player that has been substituted out in this manner may only re-enter the game for the same player that replaced them.  Substitution may occur anytime the ball is dead, with notification to the referee.

In the event a team begins play with less than the maximum allowable players.  The player arriving after play has begun may enter the game at anytime the ball is dead, but they must enter the game at the center back position.

Scheduling:              No more than one postponement per team, per season will be allowed.  72 hours notice must be given to the League Director of request for postponement.  A request for a postponement does not guarantee that it will be granted.   NO POSTPONEMENTS WILL BE ALLOWED THE LAST TWO WEEKS OF PLAY!

In the event of SEVERE WEATHER, etc., make-up games may be scheduled on a night other than the regular night, or double headers may be scheduled in order to ensure uniform completion dates for the league.  All efforts will be made to accommodate the teams involved.
