- How many people can I have on my team?
You can have up to 6, but also can play with 4 or 5.
- I want to play on a Co-Ed league, how many girls need to be on my team?
Every Co-Ed Team needs to have 2 girls playing on the court at all times.
- What if I can only field 1 girl?
Your max players at one time on the court goes to 4.
- How do I receive the drink specials at the bar?
The referee overseeing your game will have a ticket for you once you pay your teams ref fee.
- When will the results of the games be posted to the web site?
All scores will be posted by the following Monday morning.
- In Co-Ed, does a girl have to hit the ball every time the ball is volleyed?
No. All Normal USVBA rules apply during the games.
Each match consists of 3 games played to 21 (win by 2, cap at 23). A typical match lasts about 45 to 50 minutes.
- How are the games scored?
All games will be ruled under rally point scoring, there is a point scored every serve.
- Can I field a player not on the roster?
No. All players must be officially listed on the roster form. You can add players up until the third week of play.
- My team can not make a scheduled game, can I reschedule?
No. If your team can not make the scheduled game with enough players from the roster, you have to forfeit that match. If you give at least a 3 day notice of your forfeit, the forfeit fees will be waived.
- What are the forfeit fees?
If you have to forfeit a match, you have to pay the ref fees for that match ($16.00), unless you give a 3 day notice to the league director.
- What happens in the case of a rain out?
Buffalo Volleyball always plays in the rain. If however there is extreme weather conditions like lightning or flooding of the courts, a rain out will be called. The league director will call the captain to inform that games are canceled for that day and will reschedule the games on a different day. In the interest of keeping the season on schedule, make up games may be on a different day of the week than you normally play.
- Is there a difference between Rec A and Rec B?
There is a marginal skill level difference between Rec A and Rec B. The league director will try to place teams in the same division with teams of similar skill level to keep things fun for everyone.
